Marshmallow Baby Rattles!

~Marshmallow Baby Rattles~

While planning my daughter's baby shower, she found some cute, chocolate covered marshmallow baby rattles online.
*edit*  After much digging, it appears this adorable original idea is from Alexandra @ Apron Strings Baking! Awesome idea Alexandra!

My plan was dip them in candy melts, but as I had quite a few other things in the works, I opted to cover them in sprinkles instead. Still super cute, and just a bit easier.

(sorry for the low light in the photos..i was in a bit of a rush!)

Sugar sprinkles, marshmallows, lollipops sticks and a cup of water.
That and some pretty ribbon are all you will need to make these sweet baby shower favors.

Just use the sprinkles that will coordinate with your color theme.
Insert stick into large marshmallow. Dip in water and tap off excess. Dip or spoon sprinkles onto marshmallow. Now do the same with the minis on the other end of stick. Lay flat to dry completely and tie on your pretty ribbon. Voila! You have a sweet treat with very minimal time involved. I love it!

Footprint Baby Shower Cookies

Sweet Footprint Cookies for a Sweet Baby Shower!

We have just slightly more than two months until our sweet baby girl gives us another grand daughter.

This year our family has suffered great loss in such a short time..
we love you so much Mark and Mark.
We will never forget you. We will always treasure the sweet memories..and we will always love you.
Heaven is surely sweeter with your presence!

We are looking forward to celebrating new life...
what more precious gift could there be than a sweet little baby?

God is good!
Use your favorite cut-out cookie recipe..or you can use mine.
You can find it at the end of this post.
Since I'm making tiny little cookies today,
I used the middle size cutter from my Wilton set of square fondant cutters. Perfect!

Cut out and chill cookies on parchment lined pan in frig for about 10 minutes. Bake at 350 12-14 minutes.
I wanted to use pink fondant. I'm out. So I colored my white fondant. There. Done.
Using a baby footprint rubber stamp (washed with soapy water and never used with ink), impress fondant.
(I found my stamp at Michael's craft store)

Lightly dust stamp with powdered sugar and cut out the
sweet little feet with the same square cutter used for the cookies.

Using my dry paintbrush, I lightly dusted off any excess powdered sugar.
Now you can lightly "paint" on pink luster dust with the same dry brush.
Ahh..so pretty!
This could not be easier, I used canned frosting..yum!
How sweet is this?!
My happy place to edit photos and make sweet little treat bag toppers like these? It's PicMonkey! Right now they're offering a free week of their Royale level. Try it..you'll more than likely love it!
Cut-out Sugar Cookie Recipe
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut extract
Combine flour and baking powder in separate bowl.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and flavorings, mixing well. Gradually add flour mixture on low to combine.
Gently knead cookie dough just enough to fully incorporate, also scraping the bowl for any stray bits.
Chill dough.
Roll out on surface lightly dusted with flour.
Cut out cookies and place on parchment lined pan.
Chill the whole thing in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.
