Christmas in July~Jolly Ranchers Christmas Tree Ornaments!

 Jolly Ranchers Ornaments!
Today was my last chance to post these Candy Christmas Trees for "Christmas in July"! I happen to be the only one in my family who is a bona fide Christmas nut. I listen to Christmas music year round along with watching Christmas movies. I start looking for Christmas decorations even before the last waning days of summer. So on our road trip this year, my sweet husband took me to "The World's Largest Christmas Store"!
Whoo hoo! Merry Christmas in July Everybody! :o)

Olympic Rings Cookies!

OOO
OO
Olympic Rings Cookies!
I am so excited about watching the Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Summer Olympics!!
This story begins way back in September 1990.
I remember the anticipation
of finding out which city would host the 1996 Summer Olympics.
I was driving to work when the announcement came over the radio.
    "The International Olympic Committee
has awarded the 1996 Olympic Games to the city of..
ATLANTA". Wow! That's us!
We had 6 years to get our city ready...
Back in '96, my husband and I owned a little gift shop in our hometown  of Fayetteville. The kids were out of school for the summer, so they were both at work with me. We were more than happy to close up the shop that hot July day when the Olympic Torch came to our Town Square!
Our family had so much fun that summer. My daughter and I both, celebrated our birthdays during the two weeks of the Games, and we spent a lot of time enjoying the festive atmosphere in Atlanta for those Centennial Olympics!
So..here we are sixteen years later.                                                                            Tonight is the big night.
The Opening Ceremony for the 2012 Olympic Games.
Congratulations to the city of London.
Good luck to ALL the Olympic Athletes.
But most of all..
GO TEAM USA!
So, today I am making
Olympic Rings Cookies!

Chocolaty Peanut Butter Cocoa Rice Krispies Treats!

Rice Krispies Treats~ Chocolate~Peanut Butter!
My son says you can't go wrong here..being his favorite flavor combo and all.
He came up with this sweet concoction with me adding the chocolate chips into the mix. These are particularly yummy!
Awesome job Mikey!
When set, use cookie cutters to cut into shapes. I put mine on sticks. Dip end of stick into melted coating, insert into the Rice Krispie Treat and let set.
Dip into peanut butter coating~Place on wax paper lined pan, let set~Dip bottom of treats into chocolate coating placing on wax paper lined pan to set.
Here comes the fun..and I say it's alright (makes me think of an old song!)
Drizzle and Decorate!
I made this sweet Mickey Mouse treat for my precious grandson Zacky who is recovering from his second serious surgery in less than 6 months.
I loved the happy smiles I got when he saw his favorite Disney character made just for him~ :o)

Happy 4th Of July!
This year we are celebrating America's
 236th Birthday!
Here are some cookies to help you celebrate.

Again, I used this cookie recipe without the food coloring.
