Jolly Rancher Spring Flower Cupcakes!

Happy Spring!
Yes! It's another post featuring Jolly Ranchers!
I can't help it..the ideas keep coming :o)
I was sooo excited to make these. As I was making these candy crosses last week, I realized they were pliable while they were still warm! So...I experimented with a flower, just slightly bending the petals up. I loved how it turned out, and decided to try some leaves as well. You can't really tell it so well in the photos, but I'll tell you if you make these, you'll love them!

Our favorite Jolly Ranchers!
I am using the Wilton Fondant Cutters to make my flowers and leaves. I purchased two packages of each shape so I could cut my baking time in half. I smashed the candy with my hubby's hammer. I put them in a large baggie, lay a paper towel over it and started smashing. They're very hard and do get sharp edges that will cut you, so be careful.
Spray the cutters liberally with non-stick spray.
 I used Lemonheads &...
  Sixlets as my flower centers.
Place smashed candy on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Bake at 275 degrees  8-10 minutes until completely melted. Immediately and firmly, press cutters into candy. Next, place candy centers into hot candy.Wait about 4-5 minutes and gently peel off the paper. Now gently press all around the bottom of cutters to make sure all edges are cut through. Very gently, apply pressure turning petals (or leaves) up to achieve a 3-d effect.
I only bake 2-4 pieces at a time as they set up super fast!
Just bake your favorite cupcakes and cover them with fondant . I ended up using a circle cutter to cut out my fondant as I just thought it looked better on the cupcake than this flower cut-out. But..I only got photos of the flower shape, so just pretend this is a circle. ;o)

 Ice cupcake.
Just place the fondant upside down in the palm of your hand. Place the cupcake on top of this and gently smooth with the palm of your other hand. This  method works great for me.

Make the leaves the same as the flowers. Bake on 275 degrees for 8-10 minutes until completely melted.
Immediately press leaf cutters into candy. Let cool 4-5 minutes. Gently press candy out and slightly bend leaves up. Cool completely on parchment paper.

Ahh..my pretty flower garden! :o)
Cupcake assembly:
Dampen the section of candy piece that will come into contact with the cupcake. Hold in place for several seconds until the piece adheres to the fondant.
