Snowballs of Fun Snowman Cookies!

Snowman Cookies!
I know it's not THAT cold yet..at least here in Georgia..but I just couldn't resist making these sweet little cookies. I am absolutely diving head first into the Christmas season. Today is Christmas tree choosing day. After two of my grandsons basketball games that is. It will be my youngest grandson's first game. He is soo excited. So are me and Pawpaw! Which reminds me..I need to go charge my camera battery!
Have a great weekend everybody. :)
Roll out cookie dough (recipe below) and cut with square cutter.
Place cookies on parchment paper lined cookie sheet.
I used Wilton ready made white, blue and red fondant for my snowman cookies.
Roll fondant and cut with same cutter used to cut the cookies.
If you don't have a square cookie cutter, you can improvise like I did above.

 Super easy fondant snowman!
I searched all my favorite local craft shops looking for candy carrot noses. No luck. I'm kinda glad I didn't find any. I love the way this candy corn carrot nose turned out!
These snowball pictures did not turn out great..sorry! But you can still see how easy they are to make.
While I am certainly no whiz with fondant..I did manage to make a decent mitten. I used a short, sharp knife to cut out the shape. I then smoothed out the edges by hand. Now draw lines and then arms (with FoodWriter pen) onto snowman. Attach all pieces to fondant with corn syrup and paintbrush. I used a mini M&M for the mouth, a black rainbow chip sprinkle for the eye and snow sprinkles for the buttons. Finally, use the corn syrup to attach fondant to cookie.
Cookie Dough Recipe
3 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup sugar
2 sticks salted butter~softened
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Combine flour & baking powder in a separate bowl.
Cream butter & sugar in  mixer.
Add egg & flavoring mixing well.
Scrape down sides of bowl, and then another quick mix.
Gradually add flour mixture on low till combined.
Chill dough.
Bake @ 350 10-12 minutes.

P.S. To add snow to these cookies, paint the bottom section with corn syrup and use the sparkling sugar to cover. I don't know which ones I like better!
