Baa Baa "Back of Lamb" Cookies!

Lamb Cookies..with a twist..or should I say tail?!

I dunno if you're gonna think these are half as funny as I do..hahaha!

Last April, as I was in the planning stages of my baby girl's baby shower, I bought a little trio of baby shower cookie cutters. I found that same bib cutter here if you'd like to purchase one.
Anyways..baa baa back to my story. So when I got home and went through my haul, I got an upside down view of my bib cutter. Oh my word..the first thing that popped into my mind was the back of a lamb. (Maybe it has something to do with all those adorable little "Bunny Booty" treats!) I started laughing out loud. Glad nobody else was around to see me in my pantry giggling at a pack of cookie cutters. And so, here I am almost a year later sharing my silly cookies with you.

Hope they make you chuckle.   :o)
Prepare cookie dough.
Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface. I rolled mine out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut cookies and place on parchment lined baking pan. Chill pan in frig for 10-15 minutes. Bake cookies.
 Let cool.
I wanted baby pink lambs so I used two colors of pre-made fondant. I mixed a small amount of pink with a larger amount of white. Roll out fondant.
Place fondant onto the embossing mat and close to impress the design. I used this embossing folder..the best thing is, right now it's on sale!
Using the bib cutter, cut out fondant pieces.
Cutie, cutie lamb's booty!
If you're having sticking issues, just use a little powdered sugar to dust your cutter and knife.
Jelly Belly Jelly Beans aka Lamb's Tails.
Attach fondant to cookie and jelly beans to fondant with a small paintbrush and corn syrup.
 Awwww...
Sweet..

Cookie Recipe

(slight variation to Lila Loa's recipe)

1 cup salted butter softened
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
4 cups flour
Cream, butter and sugar. Add eggs and flavoring, mixing well. Add baking powder and mix again. Gradually add flour on low speed just till combined. I knead the dough a little to make sure the last little bits are flour are fully incorporated. Chill dough. Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut with cookie cutters dusted with flour. Place cookies on parchment paper lined baking sheet. Chill pan for 10 minutes in frig.
 Bake @ 375 for 7-9 minutes.

"Wood" You Be My Valentine.. (candy filled) Cookies!

 Happy Valentine's Day!

I may be a tad late with these..but you can always pin them to save and make for next year!
This adorable wood grain design was achieved by using..what else? A wood grain embossing folder! Super easy. Super cute!

And check out these awesome cookies that Kim over @ The Partiologist created using a wood grain stamp! Love!

I'm making these candy filled cookie stacks for my Valentine..because you know..I heart him!
The first candy filled cookies I remember seeing were these cute pumpkin cookies over @ Glorious Treats and these super festive Christmas Present cookies from Beth over @ Hungry Happenings.

I decided to only stack my cookies instead of attaching them together with royal icing. You may choose to go the royal icing route.

I also changed up a little on the ones you see below by cutting out a heart in the center of the fondant topper.
To make my cookies, I started out with some pretty in pink cookie dough.

Click here for the recipe I used. (I omitted the orange extract for these since I'm filling them with flavored M&Ms)
Roll out and cut your cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Chill 10 minutes. Bake 7-9 minutes at 375. Let cool.

For the "solid top" cookie stacks, cut two regular hearts and then one with the center cut out using a smaller heart cutter.

For the "open heart top" cookie stack, cut one regular heart and then two with the center cut out.
Red Velvet M&Ms..we need no words...
After cookies have cooled, just stack and fill!
Now we get to the fun part!
Roll out your fondant and place in the embossing folder. Now gently but firmly press to imprint. Lift fondant off and cut with the same cutters as used for the cookies.
Place fondant toppers on cookies.

How sweet is this!?

Footprint Baby Shower Cookies

Sweet Footprint Cookies for a Sweet Baby Shower!

We have just slightly more than two months until our sweet baby girl gives us another grand daughter.

This year our family has suffered great loss in such a short time..
we love you so much Mark and Mark.
We will never forget you. We will always treasure the sweet memories..and we will always love you.
Heaven is surely sweeter with your presence!

We are looking forward to celebrating new life...
what more precious gift could there be than a sweet little baby?

God is good!
Use your favorite cut-out cookie recipe..or you can use mine.
You can find it at the end of this post.
Since I'm making tiny little cookies today,
I used the middle size cutter from my Wilton set of square fondant cutters. Perfect!

Cut out and chill cookies on parchment lined pan in frig for about 10 minutes. Bake at 350 12-14 minutes.
I wanted to use pink fondant. I'm out. So I colored my white fondant. There. Done.
Using a baby footprint rubber stamp (washed with soapy water and never used with ink), impress fondant.
(I found my stamp at Michael's craft store)

Lightly dust stamp with powdered sugar and cut out the
sweet little feet with the same square cutter used for the cookies.

Using my dry paintbrush, I lightly dusted off any excess powdered sugar.
Now you can lightly "paint" on pink luster dust with the same dry brush.
Ahh..so pretty!
This could not be easier, I used canned frosting..yum!
How sweet is this?!
My happy place to edit photos and make sweet little treat bag toppers like these? It's PicMonkey! Right now they're offering a free week of their Royale level. Try it..you'll more than likely love it!
Cut-out Sugar Cookie Recipe
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon coconut extract
Combine flour and baking powder in separate bowl.
Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and flavorings, mixing well. Gradually add flour mixture on low to combine.
Gently knead cookie dough just enough to fully incorporate, also scraping the bowl for any stray bits.
Chill dough.
Roll out on surface lightly dusted with flour.
Cut out cookies and place on parchment lined pan.
Chill the whole thing in refrigerator for 10-15 minutes.
Bake at 350 for 12-14 minutes.

Embossed Birthday Cookies

I Love Pink! It's absolutely my favorite color. When my hubby and I travel, one of the souvenirs I like to pick up are tees to wear around the house. I can almost never find one in pink! Do y'all think I can find one at SeaWorld? In the mean time to get my pink fix, I made these Peanut Butter Embossed Cookies for my granddaughter's birthday party. I am in love with embossed fondant.
I also made these for Valentines' Day. Let's emboss!
I picked this embossing folder up at Michael's craft store.
I don't mind coloring white fondant..unless I'm feeling lazy, which is most of the time.
Wilton ready to use is my go to brand.
Some items you'll need. (plus a small paintbrush and luster dust)

This pretty in pink luster dust gives the fondant a nice sheen.

Cut out cookies are great but I wanted super yummy ones for the party.
I found these perfect pink peanut butter cookies at Life Is Sweets. Just click on the link for the recipe.
Wishing You A Sweet Day From
