Red Kissed Nosed Reindeer Treats

"It's🎜that time of year when the world falls in🎝love..with reindeer!

Since I've only had two Kit Kat crafts this year (with these Christmas trees πŸŽ„ being one of them), I thought it would very Christmassy of me to post another!

These reindeer treats are so easy to make and even easier to eat!

Let's make some!

I thought I would use Hershey Kisses and Cherry Sours for my reindeer noses.
But the Kisses were perfect, so no cherry noses!
To make the pretzel antlers, I cut them in half, dipped them in chocolate, and then gently pressed them into a plate full of chocolate sprinkles.
I let them rest there in all those yummy sprinkles until the chocolate hardened.
Make sure to make extra for sampling. Santa's helpers are extra hungry this time of year!
Aren't these antlers just the cutest!?
These reindeer are super simple to make. But first, just use a sharp knife to "break off a piece of that Kit Kat bar."

Melt some chocolate wafers to attach all the candy pieces. I did snip off the end of the paper strip from the Kisses.
Before attaching the candy at the corners with the chocolate "glue", I turned the longer pieces on their sides. I left the miniature bars right side up.

Let chocolate harden.
Now just attach remaining pieces and let set.

"Hey, Clarice, did you hear that?
Somebody thinks we're cute!!"
"So these are antlers, not ears, Rudi!!"
Three reindeer reporting for duty!
Merry Christmas To All!

3D Candy Christmas Trees For Christmas in July!

Merry Christmas in July!

Today is my granddaughter, Princess Lydia's 4th birthday and it's been a great day of celebrating the blessing that she is to our family!

But I didn't want the day to get away before sharing my annual Christmas in July treat with you!

My favorite thing about these trees is..they stand up! You can easily make your own Christmas Tree Farm holiday platter with these holiday cuties. Or you could place them at each setting as party favors!

I've made so many different candy bar crafts in the past several months that I think I'll just dub this, "The Year of The Kit Kat".πŸ˜‰
So last month I found the cutest little popsicle Christmas tree crafts online and thought they would be so sweet made out of candy. What do you think?!

I was so happy with the way these turned out. When my granddaughter saw them, she declared, "Oh, those are nice"!
I used: Kit Kat bars, mini Kit Kat bars, green candy melts, sixlets, yellow fondant, and yellow pearl dust.

Tools I used were: small star cutter, food grade paintbrushes, and fondant roller.
Roll out fondant and cut stars.
In honor of Miss Lydia who loves all things sparkly, to the stars I added this pretty, yellow, pearl dust! Perfect!
Assembling these candy trees is so easy!

Cut or break, (i suggest cutting them to minimize breakage) Kit Kats into 4 sections.

You will need 3 regular strips and one mini bar for each tree.
Melt candy melts in the microwave.
If they are too hot, wait a couple of minutes before applying to candy bars as they will melt the chocolate.

Using the paintbrush, apply melted candy to attach each section at the corners. Let set till hardened.
Let's "perty up them trees"!

Y'all do know I'm a city and a country girl!πŸ˜›

Paint the Kit Kat sections with green candy melts and place the sixlets candy Christmas tree lights.

Attach mini candy bar trunk and fondant stars with a dab of melted candy.
I love these festive colors!
I have loved every minute of the Hallmark Christmas movies.
I am not ready to let them go yet!
But thankfully, the Christmas season is less than 4 months away!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a Happy July!

Life is sweet, Karen

Kit Kat Flags for the 4th of July

With the 4th of July only a few days away, I wanted to share this crafty treat with you!

It's so simple and quick to put together but still cute as can be. Cute & patriotic!

I used white chocolate Kit Kat bars, red, white and blue M&M's, white candy melts (for "glue"), white snowflake sprinkles, and striped red paper straws.
Use a food safe paint brush to apply melted candy melts to back of candy bar.
Attach straw and let set.
Sorry I didn't get a photo of that!!
Using the same paint brush method, apply M&M's to Kit Kat bar. I made the first couple with only four blue M&M's, but liked the flags better with six!

Now apply the snowflake star sprinkles to the blue M&M's. That's all folks!
"You're a grand old flag
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave"!
Wishing you all a Sweet and Happy 4th of July, Karen 😊

Fireplace Candy Bar Craft

"Oh, the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful...especially when it's made of chocolate!!

Don't you love it when you can have your fire and eat it too?! Well, today you can as I make the last-i think-of my Kit Kat crafts.

Christmas just isn't Christmas without a fireplace, so how about a platter full? I think Santa would appreciate these on Christmas Eve with a nice, tall, cold glass of milk.
To make my fireplace crafts, I used:
Full size Kit Kat bars
Fondant:black, white, and red
Decorator Icing Tubes:black, orange, and yellow
Decorator Icing Tips:Ateco #17, and a small round tip *not pictured
Stocking cutter-1 1/2 inch-I've had mine so long I don't remember where bought it, but this one looks very similar.
Fondant cutter-you can also use a sharp knife
Fondant roller *not pictured
These Wilton Santa Claus icing decorations are so cute, but I ended up not using them for this craft.
We'll begin by cutting out out fondant pieces.
Roll out black fondant and cut out a 1 inch by 1 1/4 inch rectangle for each candy bar fireplace.
Ohh, let's make some adorable, tiny stockings!

Roll out red and white fondant. Cut out white stockings and then red stockings. Cut off just the top from the white stocking and attach it to red stocking with a dab of water.

I decorated my stockings with Christmas sprinkles and sparkling sugar.
I piped black decorator icing with a small round tip for my "brick mortar".
This sweet little fire!

After attaching the black fondant piece to candy bar, tip #17 was perfect for piping the fire.
I piped the orange first and then topped that with the yellow.

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
Let's hang those stockings by the chimney with care..with just a dab of frosting!
These roaring fires..so cozy!

Wishing you all a sweet and Merry Christmas!

Stay warm, Karen 😊

Candy Bar Turkeys

Y'all just go ahead and grab some of your leftover Halloween candy. We have gobs and gobs because we only had 17 Trick-or-Treaters!
Aaannd, I'm the only one in my family to have any at all!

Back in the day, my parents passed out tons of candy as all us neighborhood kids went from house to house getting treats for hours.

Really, it's been like this for the past few years, so when the kids come to the door, hubby gives them huge, double fisted handfuls! They love it!

So now we get to move on to Thanksgiving! Yay!
Tonight, my Mom, sisters, daughter and I had our annual conference call where we all decide what we're making for the big day.
Kind of funny because we each make the same thing every year!
It's just our tradition!

Turkey treats are also one of my traditions and this one is really easy.πŸ˜ƒ
I keep all kinds of sprinkles and candies on hand for decorating treats. Even if you don't, the items I used for my turkeys should be easy to find.

I like Michael's and JoAnn's craft stores to find sugar related decorating items. I also like Fancy Flours and Amazon.

When I'm out shopping, I look for unusual sprinkles. My grandbabies are always amazed at how many different bottles I have falling out of neatly arranged in my cabinets.
Melt chocolate chips. Use this as your "glue" to attach Mike and Ike "feathers" candies.
My kitchen absolutely will look like a tornado hit it when I'm sugar crafting. Am I the only one? 😏
Time-out for an ink-blot test!
One the chocolate has hardened, turn candy bar over to attach remaining turkey parts! 😜
I forgot to take a photo of cutting the orange Skittles in half to use as turkey feet. But y'all already know how to do that. Right? hehehe!

Now your turkey/turkeys are done and it took way less time than the 3.5 hours that the real one will take next week!
Wishing you all a sweet Thanksgiving filled with warm, happy memories!

Gobble, Gobble baby! Karen

"Wood Pallet" Kit Kat Snowmen Craft

Has it been 6 years already?!

Yes, it has!

Creating sweet treats to share with you makes me so happy. Almost as happy as my favorite holiday. Christmas!

So today, as we celebrate 6 fun years here at Sugartown Sweets, Christmas is my theme!

Have y'all seen those pallet craft thingies? Well recently, while crafting with Kit Kat candy bars, the idea struck me that Kit Kats are perfectly suited to the wood pallet crafts, with the beloved snowman being my favorite.

There are so many cute ones on Pinterest, and Beth @ Hungry Happenings has created an adorable pretzel snowman craft that reminds me of the wooden snowman crafts.

Hope you're not Kit Kat-ted out, 'cause I've got one more treat up my sugar sleeve before the year's end!

So here's to 6 years @ Sugartown Sweets!

I count myself a very blessed girl that you would stop over for a visit! I love you all! πŸ’—
To make the Kit Kat snowmen, I used:
Regular size, white chocolate and chocolate candy bars, vanilla and chocolate candy melts, candy pumpkins-you could also use candy corn-, black fondant, and Wilton holly and berry sprinkles.

To make six snowmen, you will need six white chocolate and five chocolate Kit Kats. You might want to have some extras on hand to allow for breakage.

*the red fondant was intended for a scarf, but I ran out of room for it!
I used candy mellowcreme pumpkins to fashion my snowman noses.
So easy. Just cut off a piece and roll between your fingers to shape the carrot nose!
To make the eyes and mouth, I rolled black fondant into a rope and cut off similar size pieces. I then rolled them into little balls.
Ok, so now we're gonna build our "wooden" chocolate snowman. No nails needed! 😜

Go ahead and melt the chocolate candy melts and set aside.

Next, with a long, sharp knife, cut the top off white candy bar at an angle as shown in photo above.

Now, using the white candy bar top as a guide, place it over the top of the chocolate bar and cut on that same angle. This chocolate piece will be the hat.
(For the next snowman hat, use the uncut chocolate end of bar. You will be able to get two hats from each chocolate Kit Kat bar.)

Take the "hat" and dip just the end in melted candy, now attach it to the white candy bar.

Take a new chocolate Kit Kat candy bar and cut off one of the four sticks. This will be the brim of the hat. Attach this and the Christmas sprinkles with more melted chocolate.

Oh..it's lookin' good!

"Wooden" you love to eat a snowman?! πŸ˜‹
Now you can melt the vanilla candy melts and attach the eyes, nose and mouth.

Ain't he sweet?!

You may be thinking it's a bit early for Christmas projects. But for me, it's never too early! Plus, as I'm typing out this post over the weekend, we are having a cold blast! Our low today was 37 degrees and with the wind chill, even colder. Whew!

That's what I call snowman weather!

Stay warm and keep sweet, Karen 😊
