Triple Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats Bon Bons Drenched In Chocolate

Triple Peanut Butter! Umm, yes!

These little yummies were created out of desperation.

My hubby's sweet Mom has been sick and nothing was tasting good. So I was going to surprise her with her favorite candy, the "back of the box" Peanut Butter Bon Bons. But as I set about making them I realized I was out of graham crackers! Oops!

I did however have marshmallows and I've been making a lot of rice krispies treats lately. Let me just add some peanut butter, and candy chips, and then I'll roll them into balls, and then I'll dip them in chocolate! Yeah, that sounds good I thought!

She ate five as soon as she opened them. I shared the rest and they were a hit! Yay!

After a trip to the store to restock, I said, let's make these a triple threat and drizzle them with even more peanut butter goodness. Yep! These are a keeper.
Just look at this ooey gooey cross section! Oh yeah!
Ingredients I used. (Not pictured:Coconut oil)
Prepare a parchment lined pan and a large bowl by spraying lightly with nonstick spray.
Melt 5 tablespoons butter in large pot or dutch oven over low heat.
Add 9 cups mini-marshmallows (you can approximate 1 1/2 bags), stirring occasionally to melt.
Meanwhile, melt 1 cup peanut butter in microwave in 30 second bursts till melted. Stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla.
To the melted marshmallows, add peanut butter mixture.
Stir until combined.
Stir in 6 1/2 cups Rice Krispies until fully incorporated.
 Does this not look scrumptious!!!
Now it's time to add the additional 3 cups marshmallows and 1 cup peanut butter chips. Stir until combined.
Pour into prepared large bowl.
Now let's roll! I used food-safe gloves to roll my treats and had no sticking issues, but if you do just use a little nonstick spray on your hands.
Melt 2 10 ounce bags Ghirardelli chocolate and drench these babies in it!
Place on parchment paper to set.
Melt 1 1/2 cups peanut butter chips in microwave in 30 second bursts until melted. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil. Drizzle onto bon bons. Let set.
Now this is a thing of total beauty!😋

Triple Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats Bon Bons Recipe

6 1/2 cups Rice Krispies Cereal
2 10 oz. bags mini-marshmallows (divided)
5 Tablespoons butter
1 cup peanut butter
2 1/2 cups peanut butter chips (divided)
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 10 oz. bags Ghirardelli chocolate melting wafers
1 1/2 teaspoons coconut oil

In a large pot or dutch oven, add 5 Tablespoons butter. Melt over low heat. Add 9 cups (or you can just "eyeball" 1 1/2 bags) marshmallows, stirring frequently until melted. Meanwhile, melt 1 cup peanut butter in 30 second bursts in microwave. Stir in vanilla. Add this mixture to melted marshmallows stirring to combine. To this, mix in 6 1/2 cups Rice Krispies until fully incorporated. Now it's time to add the remaining 3 cups (or half bag) of marshmallows and 1 cup peanut butter chips, stirring to combine.

Transfer to prepared bowl and begin rolling your treats. You can spray your hands with nonstick spray or if you have food safe gloves as I do, I had no issues with stickiness. Place treats on prepared parchment lined pan.

Melt 2 bags or 20 ounces of Ghirardelli chocolate wafers and dip candies. Let set. Melt 1 1/2 cups peanut butter chips in 30 second bursts in microwave until melted and smooth. Stir in 1 1/2 teaspoons coconut oil until melted. Drizzle onto bon bons. Let set.

Easter Bunnies Hiding in the Grass Rice Krispie Treats

These sweet little bunnies would like to wish you a Happy Easter..if you can find them that is!!

Or you can just make some yourself with the kiddos!
Either way you're in for a treat, a Rice Krispies treat!
I made my own cereal treats because the ones I bought at the store were just way too small for my sunny bunnies. I used the recipe on the back of the cereal box.

I also used pink, green, and white fondant, blue candy melts, black sugar pearlspastel candy pearls, and jelly bean bird eggs.
I had this "bunny in the grass" idea floating around in my head but I needed the perfect cutters and I found them both here at JB Cookie Cutters!

Click on the link for the bunny face cutter, and here for the grass cutter.

I used cookie sticks for my treats and toothpicks to gently remove the fondant from the smaller cutters.
Let's make some bunny faces! Roll out fondant and if needed use a little confectioner's sugar on the cutters to prevent sticking.

I used the ear and mouth cutters. I didn't use the eye or nose cutters as I'm using the candy pearls for those instead.
The bunnies were easy to assemble using a food safe paintbrush. Just dab a little water to attach the fondant pieces. Gently press the eyes and nose into the face. You can also use a teeny dab of corn syrup to make sure they don't fall out!

These eyes!
"Here comes Peter Cottontail..."
Roll out green fondant,
Swish cutter around in powdered sugar and press into fondant to cut through.
Just one cut and you get two rows of fresh cut grass!

Cut a piece of grass the same width as your Rice Krispies treat to fit.
Dip rice krispies treats in melted candy to coat. I also like to dip the end of cookie stick in melted candy before inserting into treat for a sturdier hold.
Lay on parchment paper to set.
Welcome to Sugartown Sweets Candy Factory! To each RKT attach bunnies, grass, and jelly beans with a little melted candy.
I made this one with green sprinkles and left the face intact.
For the hiding bunnies I cut off the lower portion of the face so they wouldn't be too bulky with the grass. I'm sorry little guy!
So easy and fun and now we're done!
Be still my heart he's so adorable!

Thanks for stopping by.
I wish you all a very Happy Easter, Karen💗

Airheads Balloon Pops!

Hello Airheads Fans!

If you're in need of an edible holiday treat just "bursting with flavor" then I'm so glad you're here..you've found it.
We're made with Airheads and Rice Krispies Treats.

And Whee.. flew in just in time for your 4th of July celebrations!
Using red and white Airheads, I've tried to re-create that lovable and iconic, smiling red balloon. And..since it's the 4th and all, I made a blue one to go with!
It took two packaged bars of candy for each balloon.
Fold together and roll out the candy with a rolling pin. I have found that the candy holds up better if you don't warm it in the microwave.

Lightly spray balloon cookie cutter (plus the decorator tips) with no-stick spray. Wipe off excess.
Cut out balloon with cookie cutter.

Now to make the face, I used metal cake decorating tips in two sizes as well as the edge of my balloon cutter. The balloon cutter was perfect for cutting out that beautiful big smile!

The edge of the larger tip worked great for the nose and the edge of the smaller tip worked for the smile crinkles.

I cut two equal and tiny sections to roll into the eyes.
Ok Blue, it's your turn!
~Smiles~
Use the balloon cutter to cut out the shapes using your favorite Rice Krispies Treats recipe.
To give the pops a bit more stability, I used candy melts to dip the ends of lollipops before inserting them.

We all love the new softer Airheads and since they're so nice and soft, I cut out white fondant balloons to place under the Airheads. I just didn't want little bumpy faces. Eewww!
I forgot to include a dab of canned frosting (or maybe corn syrup) in my photo. I used it to attach the balloons to the treats.
Now that we're all done..we're fairly floating on air!
 Umm..hmmm..he said it!
Wishing You All a Safe & Happy 4th of July!
