Christmas in July~Jolly Ranchers Christmas Tree Ornaments!

 Jolly Ranchers Ornaments!
Today was my last chance to post these Candy Christmas Trees for "Christmas in July"! I happen to be the only one in my family who is a bona fide Christmas nut. I listen to Christmas music year round along with watching Christmas movies. I start looking for Christmas decorations even before the last waning days of summer. So on our road trip this year, my sweet husband took me to "The World's Largest Christmas Store"!
Whoo hoo! Merry Christmas in July Everybody! :o)

To make the "lights" for the trees, I used my Wilton decorating tips. You can see I used several tips with smaller openings. I would recommend using tips with openings large enough for a lollipop stick to pass through. You will also need a metal tree cookie cutter. Liberally spray all tips and cutters with non-stick spray and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Place Jolly Ranchers hard candies on the parchment paper lined baking sheet. Melt candies @ 300 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Immediately upon removing pan from oven, press tips into candy.
Let cool, push a lollipop stick through the top of tip to gently remove candy circles.
For the trees, melt green Jolly Ranchers candies using the same directions as above. Immediately press your Christmas Tree cookie cutter into candy. Now place a decorator tip upside down into the candy at the top of  the tree. Press the finished Christmas "lights" into candy tree. When cool enough to touch, gently press cutter to make sure the shape has been cut through completely. Lift off the cutter and tip.

Thread pretty ribbon through your ornaments.
Now how pretty are these?

  3. This one looks a little more involved. I'll stick to the peppermint disc trees.

  4. Love this idea! Seems like some work but the result would be worth it. I think the kids would love to do this as gifts for their friends or teachers, or to hang on the tree or in a window.
